Shipping today is increasingly dependent on digital solutions. This is also why the industry is becoming more vulnerable to cyber attacks that may result in shipping-related operational, safety, or security failures. Cybersecurity is about the awareness, culture, and behaviour of your Employees; a defined Process compiled of clear steps for carrying out tasks; and the Technology used to protect systems, networks, programs, devices, and data from malicious cyber attacks.

The maritime industry is increasingly dependent on digitalization to deal efficiently with the challenges of world trade and supply chain resilience. Therefore, the maritime industry is becoming one of the most interesting targets for cyber-attacks.

This training program aims to cover an overall view of cybersecurity, increase the knowledge of the threats, actors and methods, defence mechanisms, managerial challenges, and practical insights on the day-to-day working environment. Finally, it sums up different scenarios and discussions of possible impacts. IMO’s mandatory regulations and guidelines for Cyber Risk Management onboard ships effective of 1st January 2021. The IMO resolution (MSC.428(98)) states that an approved SMS should include cyber risk management in accordance with the objectives and functional requirements of the ISM Code.
